The Patriots did not so much draft Jalen Travis as overpay for him, 76 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
