Green Bay Packers

The Packers bled value on every deal, hence the D.

The Packers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Davis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Getting McKinstry where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 19
In No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 24
They read the board right and Kool-Aid McKinstry was the payoff at the 41st pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 42
A slide stopped in pick 58, with Javon Bullard worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · Jermaine Burton · WR · rank 56
They did well to land Jermaine Burton in pick No. 60, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
They reached a country mile for Cedric Gray at slot 88, and the board is aghast. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Tyler Davis · DT · rank 120
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyler Davis. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 133
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 26. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.34 · Pick 134 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 156
They left a pile of value on the table to take Isaiah Davis this early at the 134th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 161
Value with a capital V on Jared Wiley in Round 5, Pick 33, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Cedric Johnson · DE-EDGE · rank 224
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Johnson at the 219th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Michael Barrett · LB · rank 235
The board had Michael Barrett higher than slot 245, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
They let Jalen Sundell come to them and pounced at the 255th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
