The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named edge rusher, a need the Packers walked right past. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
However the rest shakes out, Sainristil at that price is a win they earned. The Rosengarten pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jordan Morgan at the 41st pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at No. 58 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Mike Sainristil, who had no business lasting to the 88th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Mahogany at slot 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A conviction pick on Roger Rosengarten at Round 4, Pick 26 that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
