Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Packers to leave a draft.
They are betting Van Pran proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Fair-plus on Xavier Worthy, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
A premium they did not need to pay, Sedrick Van Pran a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Chris Braswell in pick No. 71 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cooper Beebe at slot 82 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid sticker price for Jason Marshall Jr. in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cole Bishop in pick 135 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
