The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 45 spots for Deven Eastern, and value like that does not grow back. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Getting Golday where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Lee Hunter at pick 52 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
You do not let an edge rusher like Jake Golday reach the 84th overall pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Julian Neal went about where he belonged in pick No. 120. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Matt Gulbin well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Ephesians Prysock slid further than he should have, and No. 201 is lovely value for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A real head-scratcher, Deven Eastern in slot 236 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Trey Zuhn III, who had no business lasting to slot 255. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
