Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Julian Neal. He came off 26 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That Hall pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Gabe Jacas in the 52nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Julian Neal at the 92nd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Gracen Halton at No. 112 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reach on J.C. Davis in pick 121; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A premium they did not need to pay, Domani Jackson a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nate Boerkircher in Round 5, Pick 21 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They jumped the gun on Kaelon Black, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy bit of business in slot 236, where TJ Hall graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value with a capital V on Trey Zuhn III in the 255th overall pick, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
