This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Max Klare, the No. 78 name on the board, stolen at slot 120. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
If Neal pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Christen Miller in Round 2, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Julian Neal at pick No. 86 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Mike Washington Jr. in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Max Klare in No. 120 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Logan Jones still on the board at slot 121. The roster fit checks out.
Kaleb Proctor in pick 123 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Charles Demmings at the 160th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jadon Canady at the 201st pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Trey Zuhn III at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Bryce Foster at the 255th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
