The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Josh Cameron, the No. 185 name on the board, sitting there at slot 215 like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Gulbin has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
Caleb Tiernan at slot 52 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Fair-plus on Daylen Everette, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Gracen Halton in the 120th overall pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
A tidy little value on Julian Neal in pick No. 122, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid up for J.C. Davis at pick 124 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Matt Gulbin in Round 5, Pick 20 says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good price on Nate Boerkircher in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kaelon Black in No. 201 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Josh Cameron at Round 6, Pick 34 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Trey Zuhn III at the 236th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Andre Fuller in No. 255 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
