The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Aiden Fisher, taking him 39 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Christen Miller went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Jake Slaughter in the Round 3 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They let Daylen Everette come to them and pounced at slot 95. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in Round 4, Pick 20, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Value with a capital V on CJ Daniels in No. 160, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A big swing on Aiden Fisher at pick 201, well ahead of any board in the building. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They jumped the gun on Andre Fuller, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Brandon Cleveland in pick 255 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
