Somebody in pick 52 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Peter Woods, the No. 30 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They are betting Jamison-Travis proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Peter Woods in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Daylen Everette in Round 3, Pick 20 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No drama and no debate, Trey Zuhn III went about where he belonged in No. 120. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
J.C. Davis at the 153rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nadame Tucker in slot 160 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Bobby Jamison-Travis well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Thaddeus Dixon in the 236th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let Andre Fuller come to them and pounced at pick 255. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
