You build a draft on nights like this. Jordan Magee had no business being available in Round 6, Pick 44, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Roberts pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
T.J. Tampa at slot 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They liked Tykee Smith enough to skip the value, taking him in the 88th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Audric Estime in pick No. 92; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Isaiah Adams in No. 125, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A premium they did not need to pay, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Erick All at Round 6, Pick 28, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid a round early for Trevor Keegan in Round 6, Pick 42, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jordan Magee in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
A conviction pick on Willie Roberts at the 246th overall pick that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
