They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Kalen King, 48 picks early at pick No. 91. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Knox. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper Beebe. It fills a real need, too.
A slide stopped in the 58th overall pick, with Edgerrin Cooper worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Dominick Puni at slot 88 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kalen King. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Sataoa Laumea in No. 126 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A quiet steal in pick 169: Sione Vaki for less than the market said. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Nice patience on Daijun Edwards, who had no business lasting to pick No. 202. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Trente Jones at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Steal is underselling it; Sheridan Jones at the 245th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Trey Knox was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 35, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
