Green Bay Packers

The Packers let Klare fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Max Klare, the No. 78 name on the board, in the 156th overall pick. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.20 · Pick 52 · Colton Hood · CB · rank 25
Steal is underselling it; Colton Hood at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.15 · Pick 115 · Gennings Dunker · OT · rank 50
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 115 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · A.J. Haulcy · S · rank 49
A.J. Haulcy at Round 4, Pick 20 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R4.29 · Pick 129 · Treydan Stukes · CB · rank 96
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Treydan Stukes in the 129th overall pick, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.16 · Pick 156 · Max Klare · TE · rank 78
Taking Max Klare in pick No. 156 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.20 · Pick 160 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 148
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Charles Demmings in pick 160. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.20 · Pick 201 · Albert Regis · DL · rank 168
Somehow Albert Regis was still sitting there in No. 201, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.30 · Pick 211 · Cole Payton · QB · rank 193
Cole Payton at the 211th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.20 · Pick 236 · Noah Whittington · RB · rank 220
Noah Whittington slid further than he should have, and the 236th pick is lovely value for the running back. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.39 · Pick 255 · Trey Zuhn III · OT · rank 241
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Trey Zuhn III at pick 255. It fills a real need, too.
