The rest of the league will want that one back. Dae'Quan Wright tumbling to the Packers in pick No. 255 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Anthony Hill Jr. slid further than he should have, and pick No. 52 is lovely value for the linebacker. A minor itch, scratched.
They robbed the room for Lee Hunter here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jonah Coleman at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Davison Igbinosun reach No. 160 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Hezekiah Masses in pick 201 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Toriano Pride Jr. at the 236th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tight end of that caliber at the 255th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
