Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If Gore Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. On value alone, Adams makes the weekend a net positive.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They took Jaden Hicks at par in pick 58, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A tidy little value on Patrick Paul in the 88th pick, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jalen McMillan in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nice patience on Isaiah Adams, who had no business lasting to No. 139. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Marist Liufau at slot 167 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on James Williams. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Kalen King slipping to No. 202 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had cheaper options than Garret Greenfield at slot 219, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Jaylan Ford at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They jumped the gun on Dylan McMahon, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Evan Williams in the 232nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They paid a round early for Tatum Bethune in pick 245, more than the board wanted. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A conviction pick on Frank Gore Jr. at pick No. 255 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
