Green Bay Packers

The Packers let Rosemy-Jacksaint fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at No. 243. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The cost of the Harrell reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 26
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Troy Fautanu. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 38
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Max Melton · CB · rank 63
No edge and no loss on Max Melton in pick 58; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Bucky Irving · RB · rank 93
No drama and no debate, Bucky Irving went about where he belonged in pick No. 88. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 99
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Mahogany a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 165
Nothing to complain about; Luke McCaffrey went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Jaylen Harrell · DE-EDGE · rank 221
The board had cheaper options than Jaylen Harrell at Round 6, Pick 29, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 215
Josh Proctor in slot 216 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 198
Circle this one: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the 243rd pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Josh Wallace · CB · rank 253
Josh Wallace at pick No. 256 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
