The trade table was where it all came apart. The Packers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Roberts reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Young at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a lockdown presence outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
No edge and no loss on Walter Nolen in pick 40; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
J. Michael Sturdivant at pick No. 87 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A premium they did not need to pay, TJ Ferguson a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaeden Roberts well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Moose Muhammad III at No. 172 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Jake Briningstool at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Jack Kiser at par in the 204th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Colbie Young in the 215th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
