No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers.

There is reaching, and then there is Beaux Limmer at slot 111. The Packers jumped the board by 28 and dared it to prove them wrong.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Barton. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.28 · Pick 28 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 34
In No. 28 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 24
They read the board right and Graham Barton was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 36
A tidy little value on Kris Abrams-Draine in Round 2, Pick 11, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.16 · Pick 48 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 60
Cooper DeJean at the 48th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · Jermaine Burton · WR · rank 63
A straight-up fair deal on Jermaine Burton at pick No. 60, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Michael Hall Jr. · DT · rank 88
They paid a round early for Michael Hall Jr. in slot 75, more than the board wanted. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.18 · Pick 82 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 99
They liked Braelon Allen enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 18. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Beaux Limmer · C · rank 139
Beaux Limmer in the 111th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Antwaun Powell-Ryland · DL-EDGE · rank 146
A premium they did not need to pay, Antwaun Powell-Ryland a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Cade Stover · TE · rank 136
By-the-book stuff, Cade Stover at the 137th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
R5.20 · Pick 156 · Jack Nelson · OT · rank 173
A reach for Jack Nelson in the Round 5 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 198
Darius Robinson at pick No. 189 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 226
Bryce Foster in No. 217 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Joshua Gray · OT · rank 238
Joshua Gray at pick 232 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
