B

Green Bay Packers

The Packers won the night they stopped Whittington from sliding. Grade: B.

Future B-

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Packers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. That Whittington pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They will need Henderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · JC Latham · OT · rank 16
In pick No. 13 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 44
No edge and no loss on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 41st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Calen Bullock · S · rank 43
Calen Bullock in pick 43 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Kalen King · CB · rank 45
Kalen King in slot 45 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 90
They paid up for TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.18 · Pick 82 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 84
Amarius Mims at Round 3, Pick 18 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.9 · Pick 109 · Jalen McMillan · WR · rank 115
No drama and no debate, Jalen McMillan went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 9. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · MarShawn Lloyd · RB · rank 146
A conviction pick on MarShawn Lloyd at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.12 · Pick 187 · BJ Mayes · CB · rank 172
BJ Mayes at pick 187 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.19 · Pick 194 · Jestin Jacobs · LB · rank 202
Jestin Jacobs at the 194th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 200
Nice patience on Tre Harris, who had no business lasting to the 217th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jasheen Davis · DL-EDGE · rank 216
Jasheen Davis at No. 219 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.10 · Pick 230 · Jordan Whittington · WR · rank 207
They will replay Jordan Whittington at slot 230 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
