Whoever sat across the table from the Packers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Wiggins lower, and that gap is the story.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a potential shutdown corner, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Keon Coleman in pick No. 41 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Calen Bullock at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Sedrick Van Pran in the 73rd pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Amarius Mims. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
