The Packers bet big and early on Dwight McGlothern, 54 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
