The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Tyler Guyton slide 48 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
If Mettauer pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter.
Kool-Aid McKinstry at the 42nd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick No. 57 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Tyler Guyton all the way to No. 88, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Mike Sainristil slipping to Round 3, Pick 30 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Audric Estime graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Malik Mustapha in pick 125; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Dominick Puni at the 135th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached a country mile for Josh Proctor at the 167th pick, and the board is aghast. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
No edge and no loss on Jaylen Harrell in No. 203; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
