The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Chau Smith-Wade fell into pick No. 203. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
