Green Bay Packers
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

2024 NFL Draft
· 12 picks
· 1 steals
· 3 reaches
They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: McKade Mettauer, 54 picks early at pick No. 251.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Getting Jones where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
By-the-book stuff, T.J. Tampa at slot 41 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 57 with a little surplus value in Jackson Powers-Johnson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tykee Smith at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
They took Khyree Jackson at par in pick No. 105, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They talked themselves into Jaylen Wright at Round 4, Pick 26, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Kamal Hadden at pick 137, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Kitan Oladapo in the 168th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
JD Bertrand in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Christian Jones slipping to pick No. 216 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Isaac Guerendo at Round 7, Pick 23, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
McKade Mettauer at No. 251 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
