Nobody else had Isaac Guerendo anywhere near pick 216. The Packers did, by 59 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Sainristil value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Quinyon Mitchell at pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A straight-up fair deal on Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 9, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They reached a country mile for Sedrick Van Pran at slot 65, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Mike Sainristil at the 88th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Zak Zinter at par in pick No. 91, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
MarShawn Lloyd in pick 126 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Good price on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in slot 168, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Jones. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac Guerendo in the Round 6 slot, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Matthew Jones at Round 7, Pick 23 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dwight McGlothern at No. 251 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
