Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

Nobody else had Frank Crum anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Packers did, by 116 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Green falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 22
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 43
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 84
Khyree Jackson at the 58th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 96
Trey Benson in slot 88 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 91
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dominick Puni. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Renardo Green · S · rank 112
Renardo Green at pick No. 127 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 167
No drama and no debate, Kamal Hadden went about where he belonged in the 168th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Frank Crum · OT · rank 320
Frank Crum at the 204th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Kimani Vidal · RB · rank 240
They talked themselves into Kimani Vidal at the Round 6 slot, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 228
A tidy bit of business in Round 7, Pick 23, where Tyler Owens graded well above the range. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Dallas Gant · LB · rank 304
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dallas Gant. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
