The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and T.J. Tampa fell into the Round 3 slot.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
Edgerrin Cooper at the Round 2 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
A slide stopped in slot 58, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: T.J. Tampa still on the board at pick 88. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the 91st pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
No edge and no loss on Isaac Guerendo in No. 126; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tykee Smith in Round 5, Pick 33 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A conviction pick on Logan Lee at the 202nd overall pick that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Joe Milton III in Round 6, Pick 44 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Jordan Magee at No. 245 for years; that is how good the value is. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 7 slot, where Bub Means graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
