You can hear the double-takes from here. The Packers took Drake Nugent at the 245th pick, roughly 38 spots before his name belonged.
Jones at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They went early on Jaden Hicks in the 46th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They liked Kingsley Suamataia enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 58. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A wild overpay on Cedric Gray in the Round 3 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A minor need, but a need all the same.
