Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Cooper Beebe, the No. 65 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 3 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Green pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, cornerback and other spots.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
They took Edgerrin Cooper at par in the 41st pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Hicks at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steal is underselling it; Cooper Beebe at pick 88 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
