The one they had to fix is still broken. The Packers left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They are betting Zinter proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Hicks at Round 2, Pick 26, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Roger Rosengarten at slot 88 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zak Zinter well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
