Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Nate Wiggins, the No. 26 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 91st overall pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Edgerrin Cooper at No. 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaden Hicks. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 25 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Nate Wiggins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Kiran Amegadjie at pick No. 126 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
