Somebody in Round 3, Pick 25 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Jaden Hicks, the No. 62 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 9, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Zach Frazier in pick 58 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A safety of that caliber at slot 88 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They took Dominick Puni at par in pick No. 91, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jarrian Jones at No. 126 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
