You build a draft on nights like this. Bhayshul Tuten had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 28, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The back end got a real overhaul.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jalon Walker in No. 58 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
They reached into another round for Domani Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Savion Williams slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in the 162nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Jeffrey Bassa still on the board at slot 201. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They robbed the room for Bhayshul Tuten here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Hunter Wohler at pick 250 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
