Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at No. 243. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 24
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in the 41st overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Malachi Corley · WR · rank 52
Malachi Corley at pick No. 58 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 75
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 25, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 83
They read the board right and Blake Corum was the payoff at pick 91. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Renardo Green · S · rank 109
They will replay Renardo Green at No. 127 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 145
Roger Rosengarten in the 168th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 166
Circle this one: Kamal Hadden at slot 204 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Jha'Quan Jackson · WR · rank 178
Jha'Quan Jackson in slot 216 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 197
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Tayvion Robinson · WR · rank 232
Tayvion Robinson in the 251st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
