The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 4 slot regardless, 121 picks early.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Packers indulged a want in Ulofoshio while a need in edge rusher and interior defensive lineman stayed open.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Ladd McConkey at Round 1, Pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Junior Colson slid further than he should have, and the 58th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Max Melton at the 66th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Cooper Beebe worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Audric Estime in slot 91 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cole Bishop in pick 94 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Elijah Jones at the 111th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Roger Rosengarten. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
