The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named quarterback, a need the Packers walked right past. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Landing Barton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Eichenberg pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Graham Barton in the 41st overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Kris Jenkins graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jaden Hicks at slot 88 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Mahogany at Round 3, Pick 28 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A real head-scratcher, Tommy Eichenberg in pick 126 is miles ahead of his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nothing to complain about; Marist Liufau went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
