There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Packers never got to the one that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Cooper value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Their trades came out a wash either way.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell in No. 41 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They read the board right and Edgerrin Cooper was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 26. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A reasonable price with a little left over, DJ James in pick No. 60. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaden Hicks in the Round 3 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Braelon Allen at slot 112 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
