Call it larceny. Ro Torrence sat on the board until Round 7, Pick 25, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a premier pass rusher, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, JC Latham in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Cooper DeJean in the 42nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Edgerrin Cooper at No. 70 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Nehemiah Pritchett in the 169th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value with a capital V on Cornelius Johnson in slot 202, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board fumbled Isaiah Davis all the way to pick 219, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ro Torrence at pick No. 245 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Joe Milton III was still sitting there in the 255th overall pick, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
