The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Mike Sainristil, the No. 151 name on the board, in the 217th overall pick. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Terrion Arnold slid further than he should have, and the 41st pick is lovely value for the cornerback. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had cheaper options than Trey Benson at pick 43, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Kamren Kinchens come to them and pounced at No. 73. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Zak Zinter in Round 3, Pick 18 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Tyleik Williams at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jamon Dumas-Johnson in slot 135. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jack Nelson in the 187th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Mike Sainristil in the 217th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Theo Johnson in the 219th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid up for Xavier Restrepo at pick No. 230 when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
