More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Hayden Hatten at Round 7, Pick 25, a reach of 82 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 22
In pick No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 48
They took Edgerrin Cooper at par in the 41st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 59
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kingsley Suamataia in pick 63. It fills a real need, too.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
Good price on Jaden Hicks in Round 3, Pick 25, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 87
A clean, defensible pick in slot 91 with a little surplus value in Trey Benson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Elijah Jones · CB · rank 116
Elijah Jones slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 137
They paid a round early for Jarrian Jones in pick No. 126, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.31 · Pick 131 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
They reached a country mile for Joe Milton III at No. 131, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 187
They reached into another round for Tanor Bortolini, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Drake Nugent · C · rank 210
Drake Nugent at pick 202 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
They liked Trevin Wallace enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Hayden Hatten · WR · rank 327
A wild overpay on Hayden Hatten in Round 7, Pick 25, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Ryan Watts · CB · rank 261
No drama and no debate, Ryan Watts went about where he belonged in the 255th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
