The Mason McCormick selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 55 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Landing Jones that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an island corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
A premium they did not need to pay, Edgerrin Cooper a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They reached into another round for Jaden Hicks, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A reach on MarShawn Lloyd in pick 88; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mason McCormick well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
The board had Elijah Jones higher than the 126th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

A straight-up fair deal on Jalen Coker at the 245th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had cheaper options than Trey Taylor at pick 255, and it noticed. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
