Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Curtis Jacobs. He came off 50 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a problem off the edge, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the 41st pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A conviction pick on Javon Bullard at Round 2, Pick 25 that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They jumped the gun on Audric Estime, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dominick Puni at the 92nd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They reached into another round for Curtis Jacobs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Cedric Johnson at pick No. 135 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
