You build a draft on nights like this. Caelen Carson had no business being available in pick 206, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Steal is underselling it; Kiran Amegadjie at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 91 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Taking Braelon Allen in No. 126 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kitan Oladapo in pick 169 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 202 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
You do not let a cornerback like Caelen Carson reach the 206th overall pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

Cornelius Johnson in pick 245 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
