This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jordan Magee, the No. 161 name on the board, stolen at pick 255. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The Kristian Fulton deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Graham Barton and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Nate Wiggins at slot 41 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Steal is underselling it; Chris Braswell at No. 88 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Brock Bowers at the 91st pick for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A edge rusher of that caliber at the 126th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Beau Brade in the Round 5 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Caedan Wallace reach pick 202 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Xavier Thomas in Round 6, Pick 44 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Myles Harden in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Jordan Magee here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
