The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Tykee Smith, the No. 160 name on the board, sitting there at pick 202 like a gift left on the doorstep.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A quiet steal in pick No. 41: Amarius Mims for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Adonai Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 26 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Javon Bullard was still sitting there in No. 88, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
