The Packers won the night they stopped Robinson from sliding. Grade: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Chop Robinson, the No. 35 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 28.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. It is not that Hunt is a bad player; it is that the Packers had louder needs to answer first. The McGlothern reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 31
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 34
A clean, defensible pick in the 41st pick with a little surplus value in Kamren Kinchens. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 50
A tidy little value on Graham Barton in pick No. 57, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 36
Somehow Xavier Legette was still sitting there in No. 88, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 35
Chop Robinson in pick 91 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Leonard Taylor III · DL · rank 112
Leonard Taylor III slid further than he should have, and the Round 4 slot is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Jalyx Hunt · S-EDGE · rank 131
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Jalyx Hunt adds a S-EDGE and leaves quarterback untouched.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Rasheen Ali · RB · rank 196
Nothing to complain about; Rasheen Ali went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 197
You do not let an offensive lineman like Christian Jones reach No. 217 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 193
They barely believed it either: AJ Barner still on the board at slot 219. It fills a real need, too.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 257
They jumped the gun on Dwight McGlothern, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
