Whoever sat across the table from the Panthers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They are betting Perkins Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 19 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
Value with a capital V on Treydan Stukes in slot 83, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Harold Perkins Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 119. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kage Casey. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Good price on Zxavian Harris in the 159th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nice patience on Josh Cameron, who had no business lasting to the 200th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
