The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Kalel Mullings, the No. 113 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Kalel Mullings was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier running back value. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; Jeffrey Bassa at slot 220 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
