You can hear the double-takes from here. The Patriots took Barryn Sorrell at No. 220, roughly 95 spots before his name belonged.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Landing Parrish that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Elic Ayomanor in Round 2, Pick 6 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Carson Schwesinger at No. 69 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Value with a capital V on Dylan Sampson in the 77th pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
This one needs a full-page explanation: David Walker in pick No. 106, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Jacob Parrish at slot 144 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Theo Wease Jr.. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
