Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They will need Grable to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That Coleman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Jordan Morgan at the 34th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 68 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Javon Baker at No. 104 is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jarrian Jones at Round 4, Pick 36 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They talked themselves into Gabe Hall at pick No. 182, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Tylan Grable, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
